Ghost Gig Globe
„Hi, my name is 3G, and I am a disco ball. 3G is supposed to mean Ghost Gig Globe – that’s what my maker called me. […] My maker said, I’m unique. And if you call me crazy, I should be even prouder.“ (from a letter to the recipient)
This little webpage is about a unique „10 years on the road“ anniversary gift for my favorite band Ghost and its founder Tobias Forge, which for some crazy circumstance couldn’t be delivered to the recipient since it was made – 3 years ago. I’m not hoping for another chance to deliver this gift, as I’ve already blown three attempts. I fear that by a future ritual date, so many aspects of this fan gift may have changed that the delivery may seem a bit dated. That’s why I’m finally sharing the Ghost Gig Globe (3G) project – though created top secret – with everyone who lands here. And who knows, maybe this way Mr. F will learn about something he probably never wanted anyway.
If you want to know the whole story…. well, read on. So I sacrificed a year of my life to build a Ghost Gig Globe: what‘s on it, why it’s on it, how it can even play music and what went wrong. And yes, some entries from my 2019 diary are included as well, just in case you need an idea of how an artist/fan feels when struggling with time frames and how you screw up your whole life because of your vision. Fun stuff!
