Filling up the world with color

Filling up the world with color

Besides the obvious venues and milestones, symbols and characters of Ghost, the Gig Globe contains a couple of fillers. Otherwise, the world would be a bit empty in some corners. I don’t see Mr. Forge & Co. touring Siberia or Africa anytime soon – at least not as a band. But you never know where the man seeks vacation.

I like trees, even though a birch tree might not be very rock ’n‘ roll, but I liked the idea of breaking up the scenery of houses and signs with a bit of nature. From the perspective of someone who tours and travels the world, I’m sure the band looked out the window sometimes. And I’m sure they saw trees… amongst others.

Evil cute creatures

To fill the air, bats came to my mind – like on the cover of the first album. They fit the Scooby Doom image as well as the rats. Well, the rats also refer to the Prequelle era of Ghost, just like the monster from the Prequelle cover itself – lurking down there in Africa. Creepy animals always go, I guess, so I sprinkled a few spiders over Australian and Central American territories.

Glitz and Fire everywhere

Actually, every Ghost show for the last years has had a confetti cannon spewing glitter and Papa dollars. I have been adding these randomly – for a little more color and bling. Occasionally a few flames are shot into the air as well, as I remember from the rituals I have attended. Since some of the venues could not be fit in as building or stage, I marked them with a fireball.

Fireworks at a Ghost concert, on the other hand, would be nice, but…. well, it’s Ghost, not Rammstein – and mostly indoor events. The fireworks happen in my head when I hear the little drum whirl in Witch Image or the intro of Rats – so, why not put some fireworks up there? The music for sure is a cracker!
