South America

The South American continent on the Ghost Gig Globe contains a total of 28 miniatures. Of course, Ghost held rituals for what must be the most enthusiastic fans in the world. I take this from any video of some rock show in Buenos Aires, Santiago or Rio. South Americans are craaaazy about good music. Ghost gave concerts in Peru and Colombia, even in Paraguay and of course in the big 3: Argentina, Brazil and Chile. I filled the southernmost tip of Chile with black feathers – just a little Pinnacle to the pit reference in the land of the condor.

Speaking of great crowds in South America, I wanted the audience to echo a little bit from 3G’s belly. That’s what happens when Papa Emeritus II in Santiago de Chile gets pushed down: The crowd sings the chorus of Satan’s Prayer. I took this from a video I found on the net. I love the song and love hearing it sung by the very Catholic Chileans. I was lucky enough to experience the song live, too – in good old behaving Germany, so boring… the audience, not the song.

The other sound feature in South America is installed under the Rock in Rio stage. This festival is clearly THE must-play festival for any rock band. I wonder how exciting this must have been for a fairly young band Ghost back in 2013. The stage was hard to build and doesn’t reflect its true greatness. Infestissumam is my favorite intro from Ghost and the first track of their RIR set, so this is played when the stage is pressed correctly. Since Rock in Rio is such a great festival, I gave it one of the ferris wheels that you now find at every other festival in the world. Everything else is just a jungle out there.
